I have been practicing healing work for 27 years and have been completely devoted to a full-time practice of healing service for the past 16 years in the Bay Area doing Reiki, Shiatsu, Energy Active Craniosacral Work and Shamanic practices for transformation. With my wide background of life experience - mother, partner, artist, activist, laborer, waitress, corporate manager - I find that I can more easily understand the life challenges of my clients.
After practicing massage for a number of years, I was drawn to learn practices that allow the client to go deeper underneath what they carry on a physical level. Often, what shows up in the body is a manifestation of something at an emotional/spiritual level that needs our attention.
I am deeply inspired by time spent in the Peruvian Amazon with Shippibo Shamans and had the honor of being a healer in residence at a center in the jungle. I have apprenticed in the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition, which is a beautiful and powerful shamanic practice from an oral lineage tradition originating and still being practiced in Peru. I believe it is essential for those working in healing professions to continue learning and growing on their own personal journeys in this lifetime in order to be effective, honest and present for others.
My life journey has helped me develop compassion for, and a commitment to helping those who are struggling in this lifetime. Of all the experiences I've had, I count being a mother, practicing mindfulness meditation in extended periods of silence, and being a part of a living lineage tradition of shamanism to be some of the most profound.
